Auf der Website von Music4Games kann man entnehmen, dass Steve Jablonsky den Sountrack zum kommenden Videogame Gears of War 2 produziert. Gears of War 2 ist der Nachfolger des bekannten Third-Person Shooters Gears of War. Jablonsky hat bereits für zahlreiche andere Videogames den SCORE produziert. Unter anderem für Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars und Kane's Rache (Electronic Arts), für Transformers (den Film wie auch das Videogame - Activision) und zu Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (Konami). Steve Jablonsky arbeitet in enger Partnerschaft mit Hollywood Regisseur Michael Bay zusammen, welcher bereits «Die Insel» und «Transformers» zusammen mit Jablonsky realisiert. Steve Jablonsky wird auch den kommenden Nachfolger zu Transformers musikalisch produzieren.  Lead Designer Cliff Bleszinski has revealed at E3 that composer Steve Jablonsky (Transformers, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is scoring the music for Gears of War 2, the forthcoming blockbuster sequel third person shooter developed by Epic Games. Steve Jablonsky's previous video game soundtrack credits include Transformers: The Game (Activision), Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath (Electronic Arts) and additional music for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (Konami). However he is most noted for his collaborations with Hollywood movie director and producer Michael Bay on major motion pictures like The Island and Transformers. Transformers 2 verschlägt es nach Bethlehem Transformers 2 goes to Bethlehem |
Wie aus einem Artikel der US-Zeitung Morning Call hervorgeht, plant die Crew um Regisseur Michael Bay die Dreharbeiten zu Transformers 2 in Bethlehem zu beginnen. Damit ist jedoch keinesfalls die Geburtsstadt von Jesu Christi (sofern Sie daran glauben) gemeint, sondern das Gelände der ehemaligen Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Die Kulisse soll als fiktionale, chinesische Stadt dienen, mit riesigen Schmelzöfen im Hintergrund. Genau die passende Atmosphäre für einen Film, in dem riesige Roboter die Hauptrollen übernehmen. Die Dreharbeiten sollen in der ersten Juni-Woche beginnen. Als Statisten sollen unmittelbar in der Umgebung lebende Einwohner mit asiatischer Abstammung in die Produktion geholt werden, um die "Stadt" entsprechend mit Leben zu füllen. Die Schauspieler Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson und Jon Voight werden für Transformers 2 zurück erwartet. Der Film wird wiederum von Steven Spielberg als executive producer, Michael Bay als director und von Lorenzo di Bonaventura als producer realisiert. Alle drei wirkten bereits im Vorgänger mit. Ob wiederum Steve Jablonsky die Musik zum zweiten Teil liefert ist noch unbekannt. Er lieferte bereits den bombastischen SCORE zu Teil 1, der wie ein Bombe im Sommer 2007 eingeschlagen hat (sowohl der Film wie auch der SCORE). Der Kinostart ist in Europa für den 25.  Um alle Aspekte der Story, des Epos und des Gameplays bestmöglichst näherbringen zu können, engagiert Electronic Arts Montreal (EA) den Hollywood Komponisten Trevor Morris (Need for Speed Carbon, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars) für die Erstellung eines bombastischen Soundtracks. Trevor Morris hat bereits bei zahlreichen Hollywood Filmen wie Black Hawk Down, Bad Boys 2, Last Samurai oder Fluch der Karibik neben Hans Zimmer mitgewirkt. M4G hat den Komponisten zum Interview geladen und diskutiert mit ihm über die Zusammenarbeit mit Steve Jablonsky zu Command & Conquer und natürlich über seine neuste Errungenschaft, und Gears of War Konkurrenten, Army of Two.
